Description

Asura Strike (Alt: Guillotine Fist) is a 2nd class offensive skill available as Monk and Champion and is considered the ultimate attack. It consumes all remaining SP to deal massive damage to one target. Asura Strike is affected by Race/Size/Elemental cards, but always remains a Neutral property attack. It bypasses the target's DEF but is still affected by reduction cards.

Skill Level Constant ATK bonus Cast Time Cast Delay
1 400 4 sec 3 sec
2 550 3.5 sec 2.5 sec
3 700 3 sec 2 sec
4 850 2.5 sec 1.5 sec
5 1000 2 sec 1 sec

Formula

Damage = (ATK * (8 + Remaining SP ÷ 10)) + Constant ATK bonus
  • Based on the formula, the following characteristics determine what is needed to maximize damage:
    • As much Base ATK as possible; due to this, Monks oriented to Asura Strike will have very high STR.
    • As much SP as possible; if a card slot can't add to STR (or reach the next bonus of it), it should instead be used for SP adding cards.
    • Maintain SP before using Asura Strike. The damage will be low if the user's SP is nearly empty when cast.
    • Higher levels of Asura Strike will add a small amount of damage.
  • Asura Strike is always Neutral and will always be reduced by Neutral reduction cards.
  • The preferred weapon cards for Asura Strike add damage by a percentage as they increase the overall damage.

Notes

  • Casting can be interrupted.
  • Dispelling someone casting Asura Strike will not disrupt its execution; it is necessary to do so before casting starts.
  • It is possible to use Hiding, and other evasion skills, such as Cicada Skin Shed to dodge it; however, Cloaking and Chase Walk will not.
  • A line of sight must be available when the skill activates, or it will deal no damage but still drain the caster's SP.
  • It is possible to observe if Asura Strike successfully does damage to a target by the screen shaking effect. If it does not occur, the target has evaded the hit and suffered no damage.
  • There are four ways to cast Asura Strike:
    • If the caster has 5 Spirit Spheres and is in the Fury status, then Asura Strike can be cast in the same manner as single-target skills; by selecting Asura Strike by a hotkey and clicking the target.
    • If the caster has 4 Spirit Spheres, is in the Fury status, and is in Combo Finish delay, Asura Strike may be casted. There is no cast time with this method because it is done as the last part of a Combo.
    • If the caster has 1 Spirit Sphere, is in the Fury status, and is in the Chain Crush Combo delay, Asura Strike may be casted. This is a method only Champions can use as the last part of their Combos and will bypass the cast time.
    • If the caster has 4 Spirit Spheres, is in the Fury status, and has a target trapped by Blade Stop (level 5 must be learned), then Asura Strike can be cast on the target.
  • Normally, the caster cannot regenerate SP naturally for 5 minutes after using Asura Strike. However, SP can still be restored through Spirits Recovery and Alfheim's increased sitting regen.
  • It is not affected by the ATK bonus from Gospel.

Limitations

Due to the strength of this skill, it has specifically been limited in certain custom areas:

  • Using Asura Strike on Jungle Mandragora in Dragon Nest will reduce the total SP of the user to 25%, thus reducing the damage to 25%.
  • Using Asura Strike on mobs in Niflheim Dungeon will reduce the total SP of the user to 25%, thus reducing the damage to 25%.
  • Using Asura Strike on mobs in Old Glast Heim's Abbey, Castle 1, and Chivalry 1 will reduce the total SP of the user to 25%, thus reducing the damage to 25%.
