Description

Blade Stop (Alt: Root) is a 2nd class offensive skill available as Monk and Champion. Once cast, it allows the caster to "catch" an enemy if they use a normal attack against them during the catch time. If Blade Stop is successfully cast, then both the Monk and the enemy are put into "Blade Stop" status. During the Blade Stop status, only the caster may attack by use of certain skills, which are determined by the level of Blade Stop they have learned. Blade Stop only works on physical attacks and requires 1 Spirit Sphere per cast, regardless if an enemy is caught or not.

Skill Level Skills Catch Time Duration
1 None 0.5 sec 20 seconds
2 Finger Offensive 0.7 sec 30 sec
3 Investigate 0.9 sec 40 sec
4 Chain Combo 1.1 sec 50 sec
5 Asura Strike 1.3 sec 60 sec

The catch time of Blade Stop is the amount of time you have to actually "catch" an enemy attack to trigger the status.

Continuing as a Combo

Asura Strike only requires 4 Spirit Spheres while in Blade Stop status, but still requires the Fury state.

It is possible to continue the Chain Combo to Combo Finish if you select the enemy just after the quadruple attack. It is possible to do the following:

Notes

  • Items are usable during Blade Stop status.
  • Blade Stop cannot catch players or monsters using skills.
  • Since this skill is of the Monk discipline, if used on an enemy Monk, then the enemy can also use skills while in Blade Stop; which skills are available is determined by each player's level of Blade Stop.
  • During the Blade Stop status, players and monsters will retain all of their original characteristics, except the inability to move or attack. They can be damaged, attacked, and use items or even change gears.
  • Blade Stopped players and monsters are also susceptible to effects like knockback (though it will not affect the status).
  • Finger Offensive is weakened when used from Blade Stop due to a consumed Spirit Sphere.
  • Blade Stop only works from melee range. It can be used against ranged attackers, but they must be within melee range.
  • Boss monsters are immune to Blade Stop.
